We were looking for a hinge solution that could eliminate the slamming issue and provide soft-closing functionality for an interior garage back door. The door measured 35.5” wide, 8’ high, and 2-¼” thick, supported by four hinges. We preferred a black or brown finish with a modern look to match the existing hardware.
Although a 2-¼" thick door would typically use a 5" × 5" hinge in commercial settings, the existing hinge template is already 4.5" × 4.5". To avoid unnecessary retrofit work, we recommend matching the current size.
