When Soft Close Meets Hidden Design: The Perfect Fit for a Double Entry Door

We needed entry door hinges for a two-leaf hidden door measuring 7.5’ x 20” and weighing about 50–60 lbs. The doors required a hold open feature to keep them open, using 4-inch hinges with a black finish. While the customer was fine with the mechanical performance, he was still deciding between mechanical vs hybrid options. 

Suggested Hidden Door Hinges

We recommend W41M-400-D3-US19 or K51M-400-D3-US19. Both of them are 4" × 4" full-mortise soft-close hybrid hinges in a US19 black finish.
The only difference is the material: W41 (aluminum) and K51 (stainless steel).

Since fire rating is NOT required, aluminum offers a more economical option for standard double-entry doors. However, if your door must meet fire-rated codes, stainless steel is the appropriate choice.
