Remove the existing middle hinge and install the Waterson non-mechanism hinge with the provided screws. Check reveal. - Set the mechanism hinges to “0.”
On a bench, dial the S (spring) on both mechanism hinges to 0 (no preload). - Install the top mechanism hinge.
Mount in the top position with hinge at 0. Verify smooth free swing. - Install the bottom mechanism hinge.
Repeat Step 3 for the bottom position—also at 0. - Baseline preload.
Set both top & bottom hinges to #3 on the S scale (even turns on each). This is your safe starting tension. - Initial test sweep.
